The Sault also lies on the southern edge of the Canadian Shield which provides a magnificent terrain to the north of the city which can either been seen by automobile, or by taking the Algoma Central Tour Train. The consequence of this geography is that the area lends itself to be a location with many natural resources and and is an eco-tourism desitnation with plenty of opportunity for camping, fishing, hiking, skiing, golf, and more outdoor activites.
