Local Attractions

While you are staying in Sault Ste. Marie there are plenty of attractions that can keep you occupied and busy, no matter what season it is. Many attractions are within walking distance of the City Centre Travelodge.

Located on the St. Mary's River, Sault Ste. Marie sits at the junction point of three great lakes.  Lake Superior to the west, Lake Huron to the east, and Lake Michigan to the south.  The Sault also lies on the southern edge of the Canadian Shield which provides a magnificent terrain to the north of the city which can either been seen by automobile, or by taking the Algoma Central Tour Train.    The consequence of this geography is that the area lends itself to be a location with many natural resources and and is an eco-tourism desitnation with plenty of opportunity for camping, fishing, hiking, skiing, golf, and more outdoor activites.

Sault Ste. Marie also is home to many other attractions including art galleries, museums, concert events, theatre, shopping, and more.
